“Black Metal” term here used as a simplifying definition which the band itself normally would refuse. Amnis Nihili’s music in fact is rather richer of layers and influences than the first minute of their opening track (“Christological Escalation”) would let you imagine: let this quarter of an hour flow in your speakers, perceive it and understand how unique their artistic offering is in the actual panorama.
We can hear dark metal, industrial music, ambient, weird samples… of course all of these perfectly layered onto a solid black metal structure.
quote from label: "Skullreader was created by Zhaaral (better known for his militancy in the obscure DARKSPACE collective) in the c(o)urse of a 3 years traumatic voyage and going through several moments of doubt, defeat and discomfort.
With him taking care of all compositions, singing and instrumentations, it is pretty much clear that Zhaaral is the raison d'etre of Sun of the Blind, although an important value-add in the last steps of his quest was provided by Roberto of Monumentum, who adorned the dark spine of Skullreader with various synthetic textures and samplings."
Quote from label: "Tomorrowillbeworse is an experimental black metal project with doom and depressive influences born in 2011 by the hand of Kenosis (vocals and all instruments) and R. (lyrics and artwork). The first album, "Down the Road of Nothing", offers a lucid and cynic perspective on themes such as death, self-destruction and hate combining typical black metal riffs with melodic and melancholic features."
In my arguable vision I like to define Towards Darkness as a perfect mix in between a Finnish Doom Metal band and NEUROSIS: from the first they took the icy depths and despair, from the second instead the giant wall of sound and the general apocalyptic mood.
